This is typically achieved by creating a negative pressure in an area or facility by installing an enclosure around a work area or within a building that can be placed under negative pressure with an air flow created to extract dust and prevent dust from escaping unfiltered. It is important for project designers and risk-assessors to take the airflow within the negative pressure space into consideration as the air leaving the space must also be filtered typically using a specially designed portable air scrubber or HEPA negative air machine.
