Due to the extensive training requirements for hazardous
materials abatement and the increasing requirements for
specialized equipment, Enviro-Vac™'s services are always
in demand.
Hazardous materials such as PCB, Lead and other chemical
and or heavy metals abatement sometimes involves work
in oxygen deficient areas or confined spaces. With the
manufacture of nearly every product, some type of chemical
is used in the production process. Routine cleaning &
maintenance of process equipment may require special
training and safety equipment to complete the job.
Regulatory requirements become more stringent everyday
and more and more companies are turning to and relying on
outside contractors for this work instead of putting their
employees in jeopardy or having them endure costly
training requirements.
Protecting workers and the environment is a top priority at
Enviro-Vac™. On site workers wear adequate PPE for the job
that may include Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR)
or Supplied Air Pressure Demand Respirators depending on
the project. Air levels are sampled daily and analyzed to
ensure maximum protection to workers. Our safety training
procedures are extensive and on-going. Potential employees
are trained and certified by the IBP & Allied Trades prior to
employment.
The experience that comes from preparing thousands of job
sites has taught Enviro-Vac™ workers to do it right and with
great care. Enviro-Vac™ maintains an excellent working
relationship with industrial hygienists and air monitoring
laboratories to insure adherence to all job specifications
in each province they work in.
When a pressure gauge exploded Enviro-Vac™ was contracted to decontaminate the building. Enviro-Vac™ decontaminated the facility so that the building was safe for occupancy.
Enviro-Vac™'s expertise in mercury abatement is well documented. The company has assembled a team of mercury abatement specialists that utilize state of the art equipment to assist in the complete clean up of any mercury spill. Mercury, left un-abated, can produce mercury vapors that are harmful to your heath.
Mercury is classified as a hazardous substance, and spills should be addressed by professionals. Elemental mercury is found in many common household products and was widely used in pressure gauges and in the regulators of natural gas meters, years ago.
Please call us if you suspect you may have a mercury problem. You do not have to see visible mercury to have a potential problem. Traces of mercury vapors, invisible to the naked eye can be measured emitting from mercury contamination, in the billionths or nano-grams per cubic meter.
